Healthfully Ever After: A literary adventure through MyPyramid for Kids
Second grade children will learn the importance of eating a variety of foods daily from each of the five food groups as part of a healthy lifestyle. Sponsors will offer incentives based on classroom participation. Junior League volunteers will make a healthy snack in one class with a local chef. All elementary children will be invited to participate in the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale Riverwalk Run held in March during National Nutrition Month. Children will run a one-mile or a three-mile course. As part of the Association of Junior Leagues International Kids in the Kitchen Program, children will make a healthy snack after the Riverwalk Run with Junior League volunteers.
